How Many Podcasts Should You Subscribe To? Finding Your Sweet Spot
Beginner
There is no magic number. The right subscription count depends on your listening habits.
**The Listen Ratio:** Count how many episodes you actually listen to per week. If you listen to 5 episodes, subscribing to 50 shows means most new episodes go unheard.
**The 3-Tier System:**
- Tier 1 (3-5 shows): Your must-listens. New episodes are consumed immediately.
- Tier 2 (5-10 shows): Your regular rotation. Listen when you have time.
- Tier 3 (10-20 shows): Your "interested but not committed" list.
**The Archive Rule:** If a show has 100+ episodes and you are not caught up, do not subscribe.
**The Quality Check:** Listen to 3 episodes before committing. If none grab you, unfollow. No guilt.
Your podcast subscriptions should enhance your life, not add to your guilt. Quality over quantity.
